It is possible to reserve the activities on site, but there is a chance that we are already fully booked. It is therefore certainly advisable to book the activities in advance, especially when it comes to the high season. How does reservation and registration work? You can reserve an activity using the [reservation form](https://www.collegats-outdoor.nl/en/book) on our website. In most cases, registration for the activity will be done on site at the reception of Camping Collegats. It is open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. If the activity starts at 9:30 AM, you will have to register at least the day before. Do I have to pay in cash, or can I also pay by card? In most cases, registration will take place at the reception at the Collegats campsite. There is an ATM here so you can also pay by debit or credit card. If you are not staying at the campsite, in some cases we will meet at the location of the activity as this can save a lot of travel time. In this case, payment can only be made in cash, because we do not have a mobile ATM. ## General If bad weather is forecast, can the tour still go ahead? Safety comes first in all cases. If there is a chance that we can no longer guarantee this safety due to the predicted weather conditions, we will cancel the activity. Naturally, we will then look at the possibilities of having the activity take place at a different time. Can children also participate in an activity without their parents? Children are allowed to participate in activities without their parents. We just have to look at how we can work out logistics, because we only have limited space in our vans. How old do you have to be to participate in an activity? We have minimum recommended ages for each activity. This is a recommended age as no child is the same. These ages are based on the physical and mental effort required by the activity and are based on averages. ## Campsite and surroundings Can I also reserve the campsite with you? The campsite is not ours, so we cannot reserve camping pitches. We do work together with this camping and also stay here. This means you can also receive a discount if you stay at the campsite. You can reserve the campsite via: The owners do speak English. ## Canyoning Do I need a swimming certificate? A certificate is not necessary, but you must be able to swim. I'm a little afraid of jumping in the canyon, can I participate? But of course! An experienced guide will accompany you who can provide you with an alternative for each jump. No jump is required. ## Rafting Do I need a swimming certificate? A certificate is not necessary, but you must be able to swim. Is there a high chance that I will fall overboard? During the trip through the Collegats gorge the chance is very small. This chance is present on the "whitewater route", but we will provide you with a good suit, life jacket and helmet, so this is not dangerous. However, this can be frightening for small children. Partly for this reason, we also have an age recommendation for each activity. ## Via Ferrata I have vertigo, is it wise to do via ferrata? Vertigo has many different aspects. We have had participants who had vertigo and had no problems on the via ferrata, but we have also had participants with a slight vertigo who did have problems. The guides will always help you overcome your fears, but the most important thing for us is that you have a beautiful and successful experience. ## Hydrospeed Do I need a swimming certificate? A certificate is not necessary, but you must be able to swim. ## Kayak / Hotdog Can I also take my child with me in a hot dog? We have hot dogs for 2 people, so it is certainly possible to bring your child. We do provide an age recommendation for the children. Can I choose whether I go in a 1 or 2 person kayak/hot dog? We have a number of 1 and a number of 2 person kayaks/hot dogs. We certainly have enough of the 2-person hot dogs. Depending on the composition of the group and wishes, some can also be served as a 1-person hot dog. These are usually the people who want a little extra challenge. You can indicate your wishes on the reservation form in the comments and we will then see what is possible. In any case, a 2-person hot dog is always possible. ## Children As a parent, am I required to participate in every activity? No, that is not required, although most parents find it a truly fantastic experience to share with their children! If you would like to do something else for a day or are looking for some peace and quiet, the children can (in consultation) join our guides independently in the Collegats vans. Our certified, Dutch instructors provide 100% supervision all day long, ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere. Is there a minimum height or weight requirement for the activities? We do not apply strict minimum height or weight requirements for our family activities, as no two children are the same. We primarily look at the child's swimming ability and enthusiasm. Are you unsure whether an activity is suitable for your son or daughter? **We are always happy to discuss this in detail beforehand to see what fits best.** Our equipment, such as the mandatory life jackets and wetsuits, is available starting from small children's sizes, ensuring every child steps into the adventure safely and with the right fit. What kind of clothing and shoes should the children wear? For the water activities (rafting, canyoning, and the jumping gorge), children should bring swimwear and a towel. In addition, sturdy sports shoes that are allowed to get wet are mandatory. **Didn't bring suitable sports shoes yourself? No worries: we have sports shoes in all sizes available to borrow for free!** Naturally, we also provide professional wetsuits, helmets, and life jackets. For the via ferrata (climbing), regular sports shoes and comfortable sportswear are sufficient. Is there a high chance that I will fall overboard? Yes, we always try to match our groups for teen activities with other teenagers as much as possible. Facing a whitewater river or jumping off a waterfall together with other young people makes the experience extra cool for them! Can my teenager and younger child (for example 10 years old) do an activity together? Yes, absolutely! The ages listed on our website are **recommended** ages. We are happy to look together with you at what best suits your family. In consultation, we can adjust the tours so that both your teenager and your younger child experience a wonderful and safe day on the water or in the mountains. Please feel free to contact us to discuss the options! What if my teenager suddenly finds a jump or rapid too exciting or scary? No problem at all. Our instructors are trained to motivate young people, but we never force anyone. During canyoning, for example, your teenager can always be lowered down safely and gently with a rope instead of jumping. Safety and a positive experience are our top priorities. As a parent, am I required to join on the river or into the canyon? No, you don't have to. Your teenager is more than welcome to join our guides on their own. We will, however, need to look at transportation to the activity, as space in our own vans is limited.
